[HCARC] Solar Activity

Solar Activity is up this weekend.  The large sunspot group that has
been on the front of the sun this week is now almost to the center of
the sun.  It has produced a couple C-class flares and numerous smaller
flares.  There is a second active region that hasn't moved over the limb
on to the front of the sun.  In spite of that it has produced a half
dozen or so C-class events which were seen above the sun's limb.  There
have been a couple short wave fades due to these flares as well as a
couple of CME's which were pointed well away from the earth.  The solar
flux yesterday was 80 and will probably be about 85 for today.  It
should continue to rise as the new active region moves across the sun's
face.  The next week or two could be interesting on HF.

Have fun,

Kerry
