[HCARC] Samaritan's Purse/ Disaster Relief - Van, TX

  I volunteered to spend three days working in Van, Tx and will be leaving about 11:30 am Sunday to drive there.  I suspect communications are already restored but I’ll be interested to learn the communication situation in the wake of the damage caused to the town by a recent tornado.

  I applied on the Samaritan Purse website this morning by spending about 20 minutes filling out forms and was contacted around 2:30 this afternoon with the go ahead.

  They provide meals, shower facilities and a place to sleep.  It should be an interesting experience.  

  The XYL reminded me I’m not “A Spring Chicken” anymore.  I suspect I won’t have any problem sleeping after working all day.
