Meeting Minutes
2 April 2015
MEETING COMMENCEMENT
The meeting was called to order by President Terry Hipskind (W0HIP) who led us in the Pledge Of Allegiance. There were 34 members in attendance and one visitor Mrs Weisinger (unlicenced).
MEMBER AND GUEST RECOGNITION
President Hipskind explained the 50/50 and gave out tickets to the following people for having helped during the past month: Barb and Pete Schuyler (N9NM, N9OF respectively) for providing goodies for the break and to Mort McKenzie (WB2GEU) for sugar free goodies. Dale Gaudier (K4DG) helped Gary Johnson (N5BAA), Terry Hipskind, Tony Moore (KG5AAO), and Robert Russell (KF5AIE) to build baluns, Chuck Brainard (KA1PM) helped Harvey Vordenbaum (K5HV) by climbing the repeater tower, Fred Gilmore (W0LPD) recognized Harvey Vordenbaum, Bob Richie (K5YB) and Charlie Robinson (AF5AO) for helping as VE’s. Terry Hipskind cited Harvey Vordenbaum and Larry Altman (N5QDG) for help on wildfire, Lew King (W5LEW) helped Gale Heise (KM4DR) with his tower.
The March 2015 minutes were posted and approved.
The Treasurers report was read and approved
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Repeater (Harvey K5HV) –New Yaesu Fusion Repeater is backordered. An inspection indicated one of the tower turnbuckles was damaged. It was replaced.
VE Testing (Fred W0LPD) – Had one succesful candidate pass test. Next VE session scheduled for April 25th to be delayed until May. Fred will announce the time via the Reflector.
Red Cross Liason (Terry W0HIP) – Our support for the Red Cross now includes SSTV capability.
Field Day (Gary Johnson N5BAA) - ARRL Field Day is now 87 days away. It was voted on and agreed to hold Field Day at Our Lady of The Hills Catholic School. Motion mad, seconded and passed to set aside $300.00 for Field Day. Gary Johnson to get OLH scheduled.
OLD BUSINESS
Motion made at the last meeting was brought up for discussion and a vote. It was decided that the meetings would continue on the first Thursday of each month.
NEW BUSINESS
None
BREAK FOR REFRESHMENTS FROM Barb, Pete, and Mort.
The presentation was on Hex Beam Antennas by John Weisinger (W5BGP). The presentation was excellently received with a number of members considering building one. Copies of the presentation slides were sent out to all members of the club.
50/50 was won by Harvey Vordenbaum who donated the entire proceeds to the repeater fund.
