Bill, et al
I have the mast loaded and a method to attach PVC bushings to the goal post
plus the bushings themselves. I will bring enough long 6 inch nails to pin
your rotator base in place on the ground as we did 2 years ago. I am
bringing both my Icom 706mkIIg and my Yaesu FT-450AT which also has 6 meters
on it. Tony Moore said he will bring along another Yaesu FT-450AT.
FOR ALL: Bill T recommends table lights for night time operating. Great
idea - I have 2 plus a handful of lights that mount on your head and have
both red and white lights on them. Red is a good light to use to not kill
your night vision.
I need to go over to the pavilion tomorrow after dark to assess the bug
situation. We might want to bring a Bug zapper to place out in the field
away from the pavilion to attract the bugs to the black light. Might cause
too much radio noise though.

Gary:
I have Harvey's 6 meter beam and satellite antennas on my truck. You said
that you have the push-up mast. We MUST have it to mount the 6 meter beam. I
still have to get PVC bushings to hold the mast to the goal post so that it
can rotate. I will check out the rotator tomorrow. It goes on the ground and
the mast fits into it. I have enough rotator cable to reach the pavilion.
I'll leave it to others to bring tp, trash bags, etc. I do have bug spray in
the truck.
People should bring desk lamps for nighttime operating. I will bring one.
I have made a list of satellite passes.
Harvey and I checked out the mounting of the satellite antennas today. It
should go together Ok at the site.
It's still not clear what radio we will use for 6 meters. Harvey has an
IC-706 but it would be better to have a better radio, more sensitivity and
selectivity. Any of the current HF radios that include 6 meters, will do
fine.
We hope to use Harvey's FT-736 for the satellite, but he has to
refamiliarize himself regarding its satellite operation.
We'll need one or two power supplies. I can bring one if required, but it's
heavy and I would prefer not to lift it. And, it has a very noisy fan.
Everyone should bring lots of coax with connectors attached, including short
jumbers. I will bring my can of adaptors, and tools plus a Bird Wattmeter.
That's all I can think of now.
