Gary...

An antennas is an antenna...

but I continue...

There are 3 stations in Kerrville, CH's 11, 15 and 32. But they
are not major network stations. Ch's 11 and 15 are low power...
Ch 35 runs full power @ 1MW.

There are a "slew" of stations in San Antoonio. KSAT, ABC is on Ch 12
running 65 KW. KENS, CBS is on Ch 39 running 1MW. WOAI, NBC
is on Ch 48 running 905KW.

So, is your antenna VHF/ UHF?? That is what you will probably need
if you want to watch KSAT. Be aware that even though the power levels
appear to have a 10 or 15 to 1 ratio... the "lower powered" VHF channels
are supposed to be at par with their higher powered UHFers!

Here is more than you ever needed to know about OTA (Over The Air)
HDTV!!

Channel Master 4251... find one of these for UHF!!

So... depending on your distance etc from the HD transmitters, you might
need a new (bigger or UHF/VHF) antenna. Also you might need an antenna
mounted preamp.

Questions?? ;-)

Neither my XYL nor I watch enough TV to warrant continuing to pay for
either DISH or Direct TV. What other than my laptop do I need to download TV
programs from the internet and to run things like HULU and Netflix??? My
brother suggests something like an Android TV Box – whatever those are. I
also I guess I need to put up a TV antenna that can receive local stations.
Will an old TV antenna pick up the new digital stations or do I need a new
antenna??
