The best one of these will be on Thursday, December 3, a 40 degree peak elevation in the southeast at 6:15:55 pm CST, moving from southwest to northeast. You should be able to first spot it approaching from the southwest a couple of minutes before peak, and it will be brightest just after peak, moving away toward the northeast. The pass tomorrow night (Wednesday) should be good, too, a 79 deg peak in the northwest at 7:08:21 pm CST, but it will fade into the Earth's shadow only 20 seconds after peak then. The table below shows the times and directions for these. Visible ISS passes for K5HV Position: 30.00754 N, 99.15128 W. All times and dates are CST. Shadow entry computed for the umbra. It is a day to remember those that were there and those that lost their life. It should also be a day to remember all those men and women who served in WWII, especially those in our club who served. Thank You for your service. Maybe next year on the 75th anniversary, we can operate a Special Event station and get our WWII Vets on the air. That would be a fun QSL card to receive. Maybe make a QSL card with the photo?s of our WWII vets superimposed over one of the iconic pictures of Pearl. It is in awesome condition. I brought it from fair weather Bay Area California. It works well and I was able to work Chesterfield with it (actually was lucky and got the DXpeditions first qso), and worked Eritrea on it barefoot. Both were new ones for me. If you look at Ham Radio Deluxe it already automates just about all common functions - spot network/logging/sat tracking/reporting to LOTW, digital interface, antenna rotating, etc. How much further away can voice control be?? On my phone I can already send text messages, dial numbers, search Bing, set an alarm or timer, leave myself a reminder note all by talking to OK GOOGLE. SIRI on Apple does likewise. Microsoft calls their voice activated system CORTANA. You activate "her" by saying HEY CORTANA. It's on all Microsoft 10 systems for free.
