Greetings everyone,
I have an ICOM 7000 and I am pretty much at the point of being totally
lost. I have a cheat sheet and of course the manual and google. But I
cannot for the life of me get to the power output setting, nor can I see
the SWR meter having any movement or even a bit over 1, it just shows the
red meter line and does not go very far. I tried to do the testing feature
on it and it showed no movement. I can hear fine and it seems that with my
SignaLink USB all is good using Fldigi (as I can send, but then again had
problems receiving).
My antennas are in shape, which is composed of a Cobra Ultralight Senior as
my HF and an unknown 2meter vertical that worked in the past as my 2m
antenna - no damage and connectors tight. I hear the repeater just fine but
even in HF, I don't think I am heard neither.
Maybe it is the microphone (stock) I am waiting on a part to connect my
Heil Elite headset up. Also I can hear myself though the headset, so I know
my voice is being picked up. But I am unsure as to what the transmit is on
the radio of said voice.
Last ditch effort is to call Houston Amateur Radio and see what they say. I
hope I don't have a bad radio and I hope someone on the list would be of
help. I will be available all day (Saturday) and mid / late afternoon on
Sunday.
Please advise
