[HCARC] Difference in Types Of Generators

Gary - an inverter gen set has an alternator that powers an inverter and
can run at a variable speed depending on the load which is a very
desirable feature. The engine in a non-inverter gen set will run
continuously at either 1800 rpm or the more usual 3600 rpm.

The diesel gen set in our motorhome is a 7.5 kw inverter-type Onan and
it only burns about 1/3 gallon an hour.
