Robert,
The attached link has some interesting links embedded in it concerning building of Hexbeam antennas. One is a link to a center made from aluminum and using U bolts to connect the hexBeam arms. I have also seen other centers made from easily worked 3/8th inch white cutting boards and using the U-bolts to connect also. Last this link gives a source for fiberglass arm material/tubing that seems to be a hard thing to find.
I also am getting ready to clean my woodstove stove pipe and pulled out the 4 foot long fiberglass screw together pieces that hold the Brush for cleaning flue pipe. These just might make great arms and they don’t cost all that much. If one were to tap six appropriate sized holes in a disc of aluminum these sections would just screw right in, no connections needed to hold them in place.
