Subject: [HCARC] VHF Contest
All:
As I mentioned at the Club meeting Thursday evening, the ARRL VHF Contest is
coming up next weekend. This is one of the three big VHF tests or the year
and is the biggest of the three as it holds the best opportunity for 6 meter
skip and possibly even 2 meter skip.
Here is a copy of a message K5TR wrote regarding it.
I expect to be on at least 6, 2 and 432 as Chuck is to come Monday and hook
the connector to the rotator.

Hi,
The ARRL June VHF contest is coming up.
It will be June 14 - June 16.
The contest starts on Saturday at 1800z (1pm CDT) and ends at Sunday night
0300z (10pm CDT).
First I want to encourage you to get on for the contest. Just do it - get
on as much and as often as you can and if you don't hear anything please
keep checking the bands during the contest.
I would also like to compile a list of who thinks they will be on and what
bands they have. I will post a list back to the reflector before the
contest.
I will be on as a single op (I think) and I have the following bands.
50 Mhz - SSB/CW
144 Mhz - SSB/CW and FM 146.55
222 Mhz - SSB/CW and I can do FM
432 Mhz - SSB/CW and I can do FM
900 MHZ - FM I will be listening on the Nat simplex freq.
1296 Mhz - SSB/CW and I can do FM
I can do FM on most of the bands so if that is all you have lets give it a
try - and try to work other folks too on any an all bands and modes you
have. If you only have FM on a band give me a call on 6 or 2 meters or 2m
FM and we can work out a frequency to work on. Remember that you can not
use repeaters or 146.52 for contest contacts.
I am looking forward - as always - to the June contest and I have made some
improvements to my station on 6 meters adding a few more fixed direction
yagis and a bit more power on 6 meters. I also hope to work a few of you on
900 Mhz FM - I hope I can get at least two grids on that band. I have also
gotten an amp for 432 Mhz but it is acting up and I am not sure I will get
it working before the contest or not but I will try.
Either send me your contest plans and I will summarize to the list or post
to the list and tell us what you are up to for the June contest this year.
