For the March 01, 2014 Disaster Assessment Exercise, the local Red Cross
Chapter is asking for help from the Hill Country Amateur Radio Club. The
exercise will stage at 0830 hours and end at noon.

The local Chapter needs to field five Disaster Assessment (DA) teams here in
Kerrville who will need their assessments forwarded to the Chapter. The
Local Chapter also needs to field two DA teams in Fredericksburg.

These teams will be manned by Red Cross personnel, but each team will
require one HAM operator. Our Radio room at the Hill Country Chapter will
also need to be manned (two operators).

There will also be a local HQ setup in Fredericksburg to handle
communications with the Fredericksburg DA teams as well as with the Hill
Country Chapter HQ in Kerrville. The DA teams will be using VHF. Kerrville
to/from Fredericksburg communications may have to be HF.
Kerrville-Fredericksburg communications will be tested early next month.

The Hill County Chapter of the American Red Cross is asking for ten (10)
radio operators from the Hill Country Amateur Radio Club. This is a great
opportunity to checkout your equipment and prepare for the real thing.
Please drop me a line if you can help with this exercise.
