Kerry,

Reflector dead – see what happens when Gary spends more time on the air and less time reading and thinking. I can’t imagine why more people don’t take advantage of of the Reflector, both in asking for and giving of information. Maybe people don’t like to be thought of as having asked a “Dumb” question, when in all likelihood there are numerous others of us out here with much the same question rattling around in our minds. THERE ARE NO DUMB QUESTIONS EXCEPT THE ONES THAT GO UNASKED.

I am always interested in Antarctica as I had the pleasure of spending 3 summers in the Antarctic at McMurdo Station. Sure wish I had been a Ham operator at that time. I have had the pleasure of a MARS phone patch to my XYL from both McMurdo and from South Pole. Bill Tynan says if I had had my license and could have found another Ham operator at South
Pole. I could have walked around the pole and made 2 meter contacts from each time zone. Wouldn’t ARRL have look funny when those QSL cards were submitted. Hi Hi!!!

Gary,

I thought perhaps I had offended someone (HI HI) and been dropped from the relector list since I've seen almost nothing on it. I guess I'm not the only one! I hadn't seen any kind of a response on your question, thats why I asked. Yes, I miss the discussions that used to happen on the reflector.

I recall you being interested in Antarctic stations. Last week there was a Russian, RI1ANR, who was at 71S 10E, on 17 m CW. Don't know if he operates fone. His is a call to remember. He was operating contest style, ie. call and signal report, but wasn't that busy.
