[HCARC] W1AW Gulf Division On 14.280

Surprisingly Harvey, I happened to be listening to 14.278 when you started 
calling W100AW about 3 pm or so.  Could hear you in Center Point on 20M 
clear as a bell 5/9+20.  BTW, you got your exchange done with W100AW on the 
3rd time he acknowledged your call.  The first time he screwed up and 
acknowledged your call as W5VH.  The second time you must have missed him 
entirely, and you got him the third time.  Yes, the bands are that bad 
today - unlike yesterday when 10M and 20M were crystal clear here.  I am 
blessed here in Center Point with being in a quiet location.  Even on a day 
like today I am able to run the radio squelch wide open, with no 
attenuation, no DSL processing whatever and still have the noise level 
extremely low - not more than a gentle low hiss.  It could be a measure of 
how little my antenna hears come to think of it though.

Contact W1AW for points in the ARRL Centennial QSO Party.  I got through
about 1320 local.
