Subject: Electric Fence Foolishness

Gary,  I once took a leak near a hot fence.  Wasn't careful with aim and made a wet contact with the wire!  I resembled one of those golf course sprinklers.  Hurt like hell.  Three days to get voice back down in frequency from soprano pitch. 73-3-3-3, KF5AIE Robert Russell

Yeah, I'll bet the salts in the urine made for good conductivity.  Hard as
it is to admit this is the second time this has happened.  First time it is
entirely my fault though - the last time one of my outside dogs knocked me
off balance.  Hit the wire with the back of my head - sounded like my head
exploded and threw me about 5 feet onto the ground.  I can see why my dogs
and the goats want no part of being close to the fence when the charger is
clicking.  Last time it felt like someone hit me across the back of the head
with a 2x4 or baseball bat.  You would think I would learn!!!  I have seen
people straddle a hot wire trying to cross the fence line and get zapped on
the inside of the leg in all that tender meat.  Goes right through blue
jeans like they weren't even there.  When I was a volunteer fireman had a
person tending hose (wet feet and all) back into a fence they had not seen.
That hurt a bit too - he thought he had been hit by a rattlesnake or a
scorpion.

Cheap way to learn about electricity though.  What did I learn this time
that I didn't the first time.  Sheesh!!!

Don't know if this will make you feel any better...  My neighbor told me
about a friend of his who mistakenly took a wiz near a charged fence. Guess
what he got???  Ouch!

Hope you're feeling better soon.
