I recently picked up Band Pass Filters (80/75, 40, 20, 15 meters) for Field Day use and am sure I pretty much understand when and why they are used. My brother has found a Low Pass Filter in his latest group of stuff (he buys and resells storage lockers, auctions, etc and you never know what is in a box lot). The specs are: Bell Industries, Transmitter Low Pass Filter, 1000 watts below 30 mhz, (2000 watts PEP SSB), attenuation greater than 80 db above 41 mhz., 50 ohm input and output.
What is it, and when/why is one used?? Is it worth paying the shipping from San Diego to Kerrville???
