Hello All...
"DX IS" was the motto of Hugh Cassidy the Editor of the West Coast
DX Bulletin.
All of the "old timers" will certainly remember Hugh, and now I just
became aware of a collection of "The Best" from the bulletin.
So, for you OTs... here is an opportunity to pick up this collection.
For you newbe DXers... here is a chance to look back before
computer logging, spotting nets, CW skimmers etc etc etc... and see
how DX was chased!! It was a different world in more ways than one!!
These are NOS, new old stock, from 1980, and when they are all gone,
there are NO MORE!!
They are available from Amazon, URL is shown below. Mailed from
Texas, so you could have one in your hot little hands this week!!

DXC Bulletin
I just bought one and it will be available for loan once I have looked at
it.
I was Vice-President of the NCDXC at the time that Cass was President, and
then took over as the next President in the early 70's. For those of you
too young to have known Cass, he was a "piece of work" !! Great guy,
funny, smart, loved Ham Radio and DX almost as much as his wife - who was a very
integral part of the Bulletin. She typed, addressed and stamped the
weekly missives. A wonderful woman, in her own right.
These were exciting times in the DX World: Gus Browning, Lloyd and Iris
Colvin, Danny Weil, Don Miller - all were either active or had been.
If you are interested in DX History, a lot of it was made in the West
Coast DX Bulletin era - this is the book to buy.

Subject: DX IS! The Best of the West Coast DXC Bulletin
Back in 1980 after WA6AUD shut down his highly popular West Coast
DX
Bulletin, my brother, W5DV, and I compiled and published a book,
entitled
"DX IS! The Best of the West Coast DX Bulletin". We
thought that we had
fulfilled all of the requests for it within just a few
months, but we still
get occasional inquiries about its availability, more
than 30 years later.
During a recent move, I found a supply of unsold
copies, still in
new condition. We have arranged to make these
available through Amazon at
http://www.amazon.com/The-Best-West-Coast-Bulletin/dp/B002ODDJ0Y/ref=sr_1_1?
ie=UTF8&qid=1408024919&sr=8-1&keywords=DX+IS%21+The+Best+of+the+West+Coast+D

While
we do not expect a major demand for it after 30 years, we
want interested
parties to be aware of its availability. If you feel that
it is
appropriate to mention this in your club communications, there
are probably
some DXers who would like to know about it. We have a very limited supply
and when these are gone, that's it.
