A quick note on horizontal loops (parallel to the ground). The rectangular
loop performs as well as the square loop but it better lends itself to attic
geometry. So, contrary to what I said, the rectangular loop doesn't so much
perform better but performs as well and lends itself to the shape of most
attics. Also, Dick emphasized feeding a rectangular loop on the long side
and at the corner of a square loop. It's all clearly shown in the "slides."
When looking at the pattern charts remember what you're after is maximum
gain at a lower take-off angle, not just a lower take-off angle. (Trick
Question #2)
