Someone from there, I think, was scheduled for last club meeting, but couldn't make it.

Paul Yura, KI4DVO, at the New Braunfels location (Austin / San Antonio NWS) would be a good contact point to start asking for NWS Skywarn training advice.

I've cc'd him on this message.

Paul, this is from the hams belonging to the Hill Country Amateur Radio Club based up in the Kerrville, Texas area. A great bunch of really active hams. I've met them in person and can highly recommend them. Eddie Kovelan, KD5WDQ, has already been trying to figure out a way to establish a reliable RF based method contact between Kerrville and the NWS Office in New Braunfels as a backup for their Echolink and Internet / Telephone current abilities.

>From reading about SKYWARN on the net, it appears there is official training available from NWS. What would it take to get them to come and train members of the club??? Who knows, the training might just stimulate participation. I for one am interested in weather, am a COCORAHS Reporting (TX-KR-62) station, but don't know squat about SKYWARN.
