The club has two laptop computers now. Marilyn's HP w/XP, and Jerry's Acer
w/XP. I could loan a Dell also w/XP. These already have ham programs
installed such as N1MM, etc.
Reminder: the Club has a large banner which has been hanging over the radio
room so long you probably don't even see it anymore. Maybe it could serve as
a sun shade. :-)
Marilyn had one made which is > 6 ft. long. Dale made a storage container
for it.
Check in the radio room for information poster boards.
In addition to the Club's TS570SAT there is also Al's TS440SAT.
I have a 5 el 6 M antenna as well as rotators.

Subject: [HCARC] Field Day Help Needed
I went and finalized the arrangements for Field Day at Our Lady of The Hills
School (OLH), located off of HWY 27 just before the airport. The rental fee
for the basketball pavilion, etc has been paid so we are good to go. OLH is
very supportive of us using their facilities. Coach Chris Ramirez is our
contact point and he could not be more helpful. I have his direct cell
number if anyone needs it.
Visited Jeff Lavender at work (Yamaha Dealership/Repair in Kerrville across
from the dog pound - sort of) and he indicated he still needs people to
assist in getting antennas up, in commiting to bring radios (we have 4 I
think - Jeff's Yaesu 897 for the GOTA Station, my Yaesu FT450AT that I
bought from Gale Heise, The Clubs Kenwood ??, and one other. I also have a
Yaesu FT-4700RH dual band 2 meter/440 mhz base station radio if needed). He
still needs a couple of laptop computers too and we need to get a group
together to decide on antennas. Jeff has to work a good bit of Field Day
this year and will not be available on Friday the 21st (antenna set up day)
until approx 6 pm and Saturday the 22nd until about 4 pm. Therefore, he
needs a volunteer to run the Gota station for him until Saturday afternoon
at approx 4 pm.
We are approved by OLH to put signs advertising Field Day on their fencing
that runs along Hwy 27 to help with advertising Field Day. I have purchased
a Cricut Expressions Letter cutting machine that can be used to make
professional looking signs. Jeff says that regular contact paper (vinyl)
works for letters and I have a roll of red and black.
We get points for a public display and I would like to set up a table for
non-Ham visitors and I am sure we either have some good handouts or can get
good handouts from ARRL. On this table it would be nice also to have some
QSL Cards from exotic places to display. My first club meeting was the
meeting over a year ago where Barb and others displayed their unique QSL
cards. That would be an interesting display to set up - sort of the
mystique of Ham Radio.
There is still plenty of time before Field day, but lets all get our
thinking headed towards making this a great Field Day and lets give Jeff as
much help as possible.
