It seemed like it was being talked about on Tower Talk as if it were a BIG
Deal. I thought I might ask those whom I have grown to trust. In many
ways, the idea with the 3 foot length of hose seemed to be a low cost, high
benefit solution, but it might be a solution for a problem that doesn't
exist.

As for running the tower up and down a lot - I would figure the best idea
for a 3 section 56 foot tall tower would be to at least run down the top 20
feet when done using the radio, assuming I had been running the beam
antenna. The way my tower is configured there are separate winches for the
two upper sections, so just the top section could be lowered or both
sections part ways or just the the middle section could be lowered leaving
the top extended and the middle nested. or both sections lowered to leave
the tower at approx 24 feet which would be the safest if any kind of wind or
storm were expected.
