actually as a long time software participant, they are ignorant imbeciles to
say the least.

I want you to think about something.

This cloud you refer too.
It is no more than MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, etc..

These companies make money by selling more instances of those products.

yet the cloud means that they will in the long run sell less as fewer and
fewer companies maintain more and more of your data (the natural process of
consolidations, mergers, etc.)

This in turn will mean fewer and fewer software jobs, and what is worse, it
will expose your data to corruption at best and to a total loss in the event
that one of these mega corporations go bankrupt like aig, enron, etc.

Anytime you ever have any questions on where the long term is headed, you
can find it at Keep America At Work.

If you're not sure where to start, I will do my best to answer any
questions.

As always, my email is vbiersch at gmail.com

Kerry is correct, the software companies are writing unproductive programs
for the "young" generation. Since the new wave of the "Cloud", wireless
companies are loving the profits they are making. The "Cloud" just means
most of your data is stored by someone else (not on your personal PC) which
also means it's available to hackers in bulk.
