Gary:
What time do you want to start Friday?
I'll bring my "Field Day Special" 40-20-15-10m off-center fed dipole (no
tuner required) and my antenna line launchers to get the wire antennas up
high. I'll also bring my bag of tools and antenna analyzer.
73,

Subject: [HCARC] Field Day Set-up Schedule
I just spoke to Jeff Lavender and the first part of set-up for Field day can
begin at 7 PM on Thursday. In all likelihood Thursday evening will be
prepositioning things like the antenna trailer, etc so as to be ready to set
up on Friday Morning and decisions on which/what antennas to use and where
to put them. If you have input, please show up and participate in the
planning. I wouldn't leave anything overnight that cannot be walked off
with easily. The area at OLH is a safe place, BUT in this economy almost
anything is fair game for thieves.
This years only "Burma Shave Banner" is going up this evening on the fence
by OLH. It's about 8 feet long and 3 1/2 feet high and is white with red
lettering. After making it I have significant additional respect for people
in the sign making business. It says:
Radios Are Ready
Antennas Are Up
Try A Ham Radio
At Our Field Day Event
Burma Shave 22-23 June
Another one or two by next year I hope. Something like:
Cell Phone Broken?
Need To Talk?
Try A Ham Radio
At Our Field Day Event
Burma Shave
Other ideas gladly accepted - credit given for authorship.
Anyone who would like to learn to use the CRICUT lettering machine please
speak up.
