Approximately 6 months ago my neighbor had to replace a 3 phase pump in his well. When they replaced it they used all new wire when they hooked it up. The pump sits almost 650 feet down so it is a lot of wire. My neighbor gave me all of the old wire. Last night and this morning I untangled the control wire which is 18 gauge stranded and insulated wire. I have about a dozen lengths of wire that are between 16 and 130 feet in length of which 6 are at least 80 feet in length. This wire is available for making antennas for Field Day.

What would be the best way to wind the wire up - around a piece of 2x4 or PVC I would guess?? The antennas we make from this wire either should remain in a box for future Field Days or some can be given to New Hams, especially if they participate in assembling them.
