Well the saga of getting Ron Vivian on the air seems to have hit a snag.  The young(ish) lady that accompanied him to Field Day has for some reason dropped out of the picture and I can't get Linda Vivian to return an email.  I sure am glad that all I personally have invested in the scenario is Time (like I have a bunch extra of that) and the cost of one 4:1 Balun which I have a use for anyway.

The latest QST has a small article on things that Hams can do to help other Hams - one of which is "helping elderly and disabled Hams maintain their system".  What they forgot to add is to ensure the Hams in question really desire to get helped.  If anyone knows the Vivians, I still am happy to finish the off center fed dipole for Ron and to get it up for them.  In the meantime, I will just schedule some time with Dale Gaudier to build the antenna and use it as a Temporary antenna to get N5BAA on the air so as to remove myself from the "Why don't you get on the air" list.
