sounds good.
my background is navy communications and electronics with about 20 years
software development after that.
trying to find a place where I can set up a shop specializing in the
computers in today's cars.
Once I get that going, I'm going to be getting active again as N5IVV
Might even dig back into Navy Mars if that is still active.
Thanks,
Virgil

If you would like to pursue HSMM Virgil, find a Linksys WRT54G, the
conversion is easy. You download a file from the internet then upload it to
the router. The rest is more mechanical than electronic. It is actually a
fun little home brew project.
Harper has good terrain for a hinternet, pretty flat up here on the
plateau, should get respectable coverage.
I do a little RTTY also. My first RTTY contact was an interesting ham in
Havana Cuba. Hope you can try it.

Is anyone in the club working with HSMM Mesh? I just did the firmware
modification on a router and it was ridiculously easy. Next I will be
working on antennas and a weatherproof enclosure to mount the whole works up
in the air. I am a bit far out to hit any nodes anywhere else but we have to
start some where. If anyone else is playing with this, please let me know.
Maybe we can collaborate in building a HCARC Hinternet.
