I lost a big bunch of shingles, so that means a new roof job......
And I'll have to work on the mast/rotator connection to get the beams
pointed right.

We had much higher gusts here than 38 mph. Of course I live on a hillside
with virtually no protection from the wind. The wind blows across the
valley and then it comes up the hillside right towards my house. It's the
very same place that we see ravens and vultures catching the upsweeping
breeze on normal days. Most of all, it was a very good reminder for me
about Dale's recommendation about overbuilding the strength of the antenna's
and towers supporting structures.
BTW, all who have guyed verticals and towers should probably go out today
and check your guys for any stretching that may have occured. Even an inch
extra slack will allow movement and movement is the death of things that
aren't supposed to move. I learned this aboard ship - things you thought
were tied down securely, loosened up over time with the constant rocking and
rolling of a ship underway. The same principle should apply to antennas and
towers.
