Harry,

I don't know if they are all as bad.  I found that turning it off wasn't enough, I actually had to unplug it.  At that time , my antenna was about a foot above my flat roof house.  Now here in Texas with my antenna so far from the house and shack, I don't have any problems.  My wife and I had more than one discussion about her using the light when I was on the radio.  Just remember, you may have to actually unplug it if its causing noise problems.
