I got my new QST today.  DX Engineering had an ad that included some data on their version of LMR-400.  It appears that for standard solid dielectric cable the center conductor is #13 stranded while for DXE-400MAX, which I believe is equivalent to LMR-400, the center conductor is #10 which is quite a bit larger.  You need to make sure that whatever connectors you use can handle the larger diameter center conductor of the foam dielectric cable.  The OD of the outer jacket is .405"" in both cases.
