[HCARC] New Coax Seal???

Don - my mistake in calling this silicone tape "Coax Seal" as in the product
Coax Seal. This is actually an inch wide self fusing silicone tape called
Stretch & Seal.
Eddie - great idea about aluminum tape - I use the aluminum tape that they
sell at Home Depot for putting A/C Ducts together. BTW, Duck Tape is not
used for heating and A/C ducts. Not the same stuff at all. The aluminum
tape should prevent any degradation from UV and it doesn't come off in
moisture.

I've used COAX-SEAL in the heat and humidity of South Florida, and have
NEVER had a problem!!
Worth EVERY penny!!
Putting tape on before the COAX-SEAL is a must, if you want to take
the joint apart in the future without a lot of grief!!

Good point, and forgot to mention, it's only the first layer I put
on to seal the connector. By itself, it may not last long in the
Texas Wx. Usually 3 layers:
1. the 3M(stretch and seal)
2. electrical tape
3. aluminum tape (only because the electrical tape will start
to un-ravel in time.) (the glue on aluminum tape is far superior
and lasts for years.)
