  Thanks Don.  For the life of me I could not remember what it was called.  One day - maybe sooner rather than later, depending on who might be interested in going, I would like to set up a TEX-pedition to somewhere like the Palo Duro Canyon for the Texas QSO Party.  Would be neat to rent one of these cabins http://www.palodurocanyon.com/info.php and operate on solar and batteries (which I think I can provide).  Was wondering what to use for antennas, especially while driving.  BTW, Texas QSO Party is the 28/29 of September this year.

  Where do I go to find the counties in Texas that are "rare" counties??  Running a pile-up might be a good experience.

    The small vertical was the Outbacker....

    It is single band only...  you change band by changing stuff on the antenna.
