To All-

I think that Bob Richie has found the sweet spot for the HF net on 40 Meters Sunday Mornings at 10 am. Others may want to initiate additional bands or times as they see fit but the net on Sunday morning went quite well with low noise levels, little QRM and great signals from all.

I spoke to Alan Cone and Mike Conner today, two great attendees of the Club Station Operations, and indicated I will give them operating opportunities via contests similar to the Field Day Training sessions. I’ll be sending out notifications as the opportunities arise for them and others who may want to join us.

As a separate note, I’d like to thank Mike Conner and Terry Hipskind for helping me to repair the Club Station 40 meter inverted vee today. Alan Cone wasn’t aware we had planned to work on the antenna but arrived at the Red Cross Building for Red Cross Business as we were finishing up. Alan was present as we checked out the repaired antenna.

The Texas QSO Party is this coming weekend. If we have some members interested in participating and pitching in for gas cost, let me know. We can have a road trip into West Texas where there are less populated Counties. I have a little Nissan Sentra with a Yaesu FT-857 D, ATAS antenna and can operate 10, 15, 20 and 40 meters in the contest. We can use people with operating, computer logging skills or those interested in pushing the envelop and testing their skills to learn new ones. It takes time to organize this so let me know ASAP if you’re interested.
