If you are interested in this type of antenna, which should not be used as
your main antenna because any folded antenna is not as efficient as a full
length dipole, you may also want to play with a design I came up with many
years ago and which costs a lot less. It does NOT require any balun, just
a center connector, two pieces of short pvc pipe and ladder line, You can
find it at:

_LADDER LINE ANTENNA_
(http://web.archive.org/web/20061209070527/www.hometown.aol.com/haminfo/w2ik-antennaspecial.html)

It has been published in many ham radio clubs newletters over the years
such as:

_http://www.w6sba.org/arc0508.pdf_ (http://www.w6sba.org/arc0508.pdf)
(page 6)

Perhaps you might want me to bring it to your club when I go to a meeting.

To All-

Anyone interested in playing with antennas?

I have wire and spacers for a T2FD sloping dipole somewhat related to the
one on the following website http://www.buxcomm.com/t2fd.htm. I don’t
remember seeing the 9:1 balun so I suspect it’s some related version.

I also have a commercial trapped vertical with an 80 meter resonator. Not
sure of the manufacturer but it’s likely a company such as Hustler, Mosley
or Butternut.

Reportedly the Ham who had these obtained his DXCC Award using them and
claimed they were working when he took them down.

If you’re interested, let me know. You can have them for whatever small
donation you want to make to the Club.
