[HCARC] Regulated vs Switching Power Supply

Bob,

I am going to run the system off of batteries. In my reading I come across things which stimulate my thinking and generate questions to which if I can't find an answer on the net, I ask here on the Reflector. Maybe I am vain, but I can't help but think that questions such as this might be questions that others might want to know about too. Until I was reading, I hadn't thought to ask this question.

I thought you were going to use batteries. If that is the case you will not need either one. I have both and both work as they are supposed to. Switchers are generally smaller and lighter and the fan on my switcher runs less than the linear. I get no interference from either and either would serve you just fine.

Which is best - most stable and has the least amount of interference. Any particular brand better or worse??
