[HCARC] How To Analyze An Antenna

IF ONE HAD AN ANTENNA ANAYZER, how does one go about checking out the antenna??  What are the recommended steps once you have the antenna built and in the air??

For that matter, what are the acceptable brands/models of antenna analyzer??  I know people like Dale have offered to lend me their analyzer to check out antennas, but since I seem to like to play around with antennas (it's a disease I tell you!!!), it would be nice to have one here all of the time.
