Yes Congrats to the new techs and Thanks to the VE's for giving of their
time. To Dale G., it must be like giving birth to a new litter of Hams
every 6 months or so. He nurtures them for 6 weeks and then weans them off,
ready to go investigate the big electronic world. Do we have the emails and
phone numbers of the new Techs??
Hank Folk from my class of new Hams from last April joined the club the
other night and was asking if there were opportunities for NEWBIES to get on
the air every once in a while. I told him to check the Reflector as Gale H.
uses this method to announce when he will have the Club Station open. I
fear that the Newbies and some oldies don't subscribe yet to the Reflector -
that is if the roster is accurate. This we should work to change - too much
good info passes for free on the Reflector to not read it daily.
As to Rudy Salomon, KE5WZZ, is San Saba close enough to Kerrville to have
him join the club. Looking at the map it appears we are no further from San
Saba than any other place. We should ask him if he wants to join or at
least invite him to the Christmas Party. Do one of the VE's have his phone
number or email??

Fred Gilmore and his trusty group of VEs held a VE session on Saturday,
November 3. Three candidates passed their Technician test and one Technician
from San Saba upgraded to General. That was a 100% pass rate.
Upgrade to General was awarded to Rudy Salomon, KE5WZZ
Rob Schutte, Fred Egloff, and Jerry Zumm passed the Technician test.
VEs were Fred Gilmore, Harvey Vordenbaum, Charley Robinson, Neil Kern, Bob
Richie. Don Murray observed the process because his credentials as a VE have
not arrived yet.
