Don,
Thank you. I have about 120 amps worth of a full 200 amp service to use for my shop and radio room and plenty of wire. Normally all I have on this 200 amp service is 2 freezers, 2 shallow well pumps using 220 and 20 amps and a refrigerator. There is a 220 30 amp circuit to a hot water heater that is turned off and 110/220 circuits for a washer and dryer, however these are seldom used either. Glad to know about the 20 amp 220 for a big amp though. I can easily stub one of those off into the wall for "Future Use". All of the circuits into the radio shack will be a dedicated line only for a radio or radio related piece of gear - nothing else on their lines.
Of all the things I have on the service listed above, which are the most likely to be a source of RF???
Gary J

Gary...
For the big 1500 watt amps, you will need a 20amp 240VAC outlet
For a 500 watt amp, a regular 15 or 20 amp circuit will do.
Depending on the circuit load, the small amp might need to be on its own breaker.

Along with my other question on wiring requirements for power supplies, how about wiring requirements for 500-1500 watt amplifiers. What kind of power requirements do they have??
