[HCARC] EchoLink/ Windstream

To All-

  Thanks to Fred Gilmore, W0LPD, and Jerry Migely, WA9JXZ for the time they spent yesterday helping me to troubleshoot issues getting on the air with EchoLink.

  If one has a home networking group with a router, it’s necessary to configure the router to open ports 5198 and 5199 and forward them to your computer.  Through the troubleshooting process I learned the Windstream modem I have is similar to a router and I also had to open and forward ports from the modem to the router.  Once this determined and accomplished, EchoLink was up and functional.

  I certainly appreciate the help from Fred and Jerry.
