Sorry that I missed the test run on 10.

   Just a few thoughts:

Ten can be a nice band for new hams.
Most of the time, 10 is not going to be open but a lot of openings go unnoticed because no one is listening. If you are listening because of local activity and it does open up, you might catch some DX that would otherwise be missed.

One can build an antenna with some real gain without needing a lot of real estate. A vertical dipole or 5/8 wave vertical would offer some nice range without the nulls of a horizontal dipole or the high radiation angle of an inverted vee.
You have no help from the skywave so get your antenna up high and your radiation angle down low.

How about 10 meter mobile? If you have much of a commute, like me, a drive time rag chew net would help pass the miles. Pick up an old HTX 10 or 100 at a hamfest, re-task a CB antenna and your on the air for cheap. (Once you try HF mobile, you will be hooked)

OK I have rambled on enough, 73 de AD5UZ
