To All-

As a follow up to a previous email regarding a test of local 10 meter propagation I’d like to encourage those that can to tune to 28.365 Mhz tonight at 6:30 pm to conduct a test. It shouldn’t last longer than 15 minutes.

What may result from the test is to learn that we have pocket or node areas of communication such as the Fredericksburg, Kerrville or Centerpoint areas etc.. As a result, here’s what I suggest when you arrive on frequency at 6:30 or thereafter.

1. If you listen and don’t hear anyone, please call “QRZ the Hill Country Amateur Radio Club 10 meter Propagation Test”.

2. As someone answers, please copy the callsigns and encourage others to give a call as well. The idea is to determine the communication areas that exist. I would think after 15 minutes we should be able to determine the communication area or areas.

3. When the test period is over, if you would please send me an email of those stations that you can copy. If a representative in an area emerges who will send the list that’s fine and will save duplication. I’ll sift through the data and report what I’ve found.

4. If for some reason the frequency is busy with another qso, I’d suggest 28.370 Mhz as a backup frequency.

This time and frequency is not permanent for future potential communications, it’s just a test time and frequency.

Thanks to all who choose to participate.
