It was interesting to read the report from W0UC. passed on by K0MHC.

Of course, we had no aurora here, but sporadic E propagation was better than I've ever experienced in a January contest. Usually the January contest is dead in this part of the country - little activity and no propagation.

But this year, I worked from Connecticut to San Diego plus YV, FM, TG and TI. I also worked XE2OR, but he's a local.

Also tropo was wonderful Sunday morning. I worked EM 36, EM37 and EM25, MO and OK.

Results were:
Band Qs Grids
50 MHz 176 82
144 MHz 46 19
222 MHz 10 9
432 MHz 16 8
1296 MHz 4 3

Score abt 36K,

Thanks to Harvey for several contacts including the only one in my own grid (EM00) on 1296.
Also thanks to WB5CHW for EM00 on 222. In the last 15 minutes, Jim hooked his 80 meter dipole to his FT-736 and gave me a new grid on that band.

73,

Bill, W3XO/5
