To All-

Thanks to Charlie Robinson (AF5AO), Bill Anderson (KC5RHF), Harvey
Vordenbaum (K5HV) and Bob Richie (K5YB) for participating the the N1MM
contest software practice session yesterday via the North American QSO Party
SSB Contest. In addition, thanks to Marilyn Vordenbaum (KE5DDR) for her
hospitality providing great chocolate chip cookies and offers of other
goodies. After working John Guida (K5XA) on the air he stopped by to see
how we were doing. John Huecksteadt (AC4CA) attempted to contact us as well
but we had QRM on the frequency and didn't make it.

We took turns operating the N1MM software and station microphone. At the
end of the day I believe all would agree that the accuracy, speed and
efficiency of the N1MM logging program is superior to manual logging and
transformation into electronic files. While all those present were computer
savvy, the N1MM logging program was very simple to use.

We performed mostly search and pounce with some periods of running the
frequency. The results of our new antenna on the tower were beyond my
expectations and Bob Richie may add some specifics of his thoughts.

I may participate in several contests using the club station for
additional practice and learning sessions in February if anyone is
interested in joining me. There's the 10-10 10 meter SSB contest along with
two great RTTY contests on various weekends. The RTTY contests are super
easy to operate with primarily "mouse" work involved.

Finally, thanks to Bill, Bob and Harvey for stepping out of their comfort
zones to take on operation of the station microphone yesterday. It's always
a bit intimidating to try something new and step into the spotlight but all
did well.
