[HCARC] Logging Practice Session - 9am to 3pm - Sunday, February 12th

To All -

I’ll be at the Red Cross Building from 9:00 am until 3 pm on Sunday, February 12th to participate in the CQ WW WPX RTTY contest. The contest begins at 0000 UTC Saturday and ends 2359 on Sunday, essentially a 48 hour period.

Since we’ll be utilizing computer logging this year for Field Day via N1MM Contesting Software, I thought we might want to get some operating and logging practice in during this contest. If you haven’t participated or observed previous contest practice sessions you may want to join me and past participants are certainly welcome. You’re welcome to come and go as you please but may need to call my cell phone, 281-844-8897 to gain access if the time is other than 9 am.

If there are new participants, before jumping into the contest I’ll spend a few minutes discussing how to download, update, configure and set up a log in the free N1MM contesting software.  Since RTTY will be utilized in this contest, I’ll also discuss how the free RTTY software, MMTTY, may be downloaded and configured to function with N1MM.

The intent is to provide a low stress environment and allow everyone an opportunity to obtain hands on experience operating and logging. These are the skills we can put to use on Field Day this coming June.
