I know that the grounding strap coming from the tranceiver and other equipment in the shack is supposed to be as short as possible and I have heard that a copper strip or copper braid is the best. That said, what is the optimum width for the braid to be that makes the grounding run??
My plan is to tie all the equipment to a common copper grounding buss mounted to the back side of my desk, and then run one larger ground strap/braid out through the wall in conduit to my ground rods. Max run of this braid will be approx 10 feet. I could use 6 gauge copper wire or 3/16 inch copper braid which I have or can get a strap of around 1 1/2 inches wide if necessary.
