Thanks Bob - didn't know about them.  The books on Baluns that used to be published by ARRL are incredibly expensive now - going on Amazon for between $250 and $1300 bucks.  That is almost a new radio in cost.

  Gary - there is a Yahoo group that just concerns itself with antennas and antenna related topics, including baluns. If you have not signed up for it I suggest you look into it.
