I was more interested in the propagation aspects: who could hear each other,
how well, location and antenna used.
I was going to have a grid layout for logging, but then there were a lot
more stations than I figured on.

To All-

From the operation of the 10 meter net last week and subsequent comments
here's what I learned:

1. We need enough structure in the net to determine who is on frequency.
As a result, check-ins to the net will be solicited similar to the format of
the 2 meter net.

2. As net control, I could only hear well about half of the stations
checking into the net. Therefore, a request for relays will be made after
calling each area. If you hear a station well enough to communicate, please
relay the check-in information.

3. I learned some people want to check in, pass along their comments and
move on with their evening. Others enjoy rag chewing and spending more time
on the radio during the evening.
This week, once people have checked in, I'll ask a volunteer to go down
through the list and request name, location and comments. If we have more
than one volunteer, we'll simply rotate operators as we progress through the
list. Not everyone who wanted to speak during the net last week did so and
this should insure everyone has a chance to speak if they so desire.

4. Once finished with the list we'll shift to a rag chewing session for
those who want to stay on frequency and continue chatting.

I'll continue to open up the Club Station on Wednesday evenings as long as
there's participation and people show up to operate. I appreciate the
showing last week of Joe, Mike and Al.

The format is being developed based upon what I'm perceiving and I welcome
comments by others in the Club.
