I have a whole new appreciation for what comprises a tree.  Limbs &
twigs.  Lots and lots of limbs and twigs.  I think they were put there
to foil any attempt to string a wire antenna through them!  It's very
easy to shoot a weight or tennis ball over a tree but it's something
else to get a rope  up into the tree  where you want it.  As I wrote
earlier, I decided that my center fed 10 meter dipole didn't work well
as a vertical so I thought, no sweat I'll just pull the lower end of it
over to the next tree about even with the other end and make it a flat
top.  That's when I found out that all those little limbs & twigs had
other ideas!  It ain't as easy as it looks!  Couple in my lousy (read
almost nonexistent) depth perception and you may begin to appreciate my
problem.  I could write a book about my antics yesterday!  I got 'er
done, including climbing a 25 foot extension ladder and it works much
better as a slightly inverted V.

About the "Rag Chew" last night; someone decided to structure it as a
net, net control & all.  Came as a surprise but it went well. many
thanks to Gale, et al, for taking the time to get it done. We'll see how
it evolves.   One little thing:  when we were getting signal strength
reading form the various stations, it would help if the operator stated
his QTH.  I was especially interested in finding out if I was getting
out to F'burg.  Still don't know.  Maybe Gale loggged it all.  Hope so.
