To All-
I’ll be at the Club Station from 11 am to 4 pm this coming Saturday to participate in the EA RTTY Contest that begins at 1600 UTC (11 pm local) and runs thru 1600 UTC on Sunday. Here’s the link to the rules http://www.ure.es/contest/430-ea-rtty-contest.html . Anyone interested in joining me is welcome and I may be contacted via the repeater on 146.98 or 830-896-9593 for entry. We’ll likely to be on the lookout for Rhode Island, Maine and other needed DX stations as we operate search and pounce. Spotting DX and other stations is allowed under the rules for those wishing to submit their logs. This is another opportunity to practice with the N1MM logging software and the Club rig which we’ll be using for the Swing Digital, SSB and CW Station at Field Day.
For those who may chose to operate from their home stations, any station may work any other station and not necessarily Spain so if you’re interested in working towards WAS or DXCC this is an opportunity to work needed states and/or countries. If anyone has a TNC such as SignaLink USB and would like to try this from your home QTH, I can help you tomorrow set it up for the contest but I’ll need to know pretty quickly in order to schedule the time.
I just checked this morning and N5HR has 32 confirmed countries on LoTW. While working SSB and CW typically don’t provide a high percentage of QSLs on LoTW, I’ve found the digital contests have a pretty decent percentage of postings to LoTW. I suspect this is because the people operating digital are doing it through their computers and have procedures in place as do we to simply upload logs into LoTW.
Let me know if you want to operate from home and would like some help tomorrow getting set up.
