It looks like nobody else has answered you, so I thought I would take a
stab at it.
The club digi-gurus have reconfigured the club's Winlink node to share
frequencies with the repeater. I can't speak for them, but I think the
idea was to 1. make the Winlink node easily accessible for use, esp
during Emcomm ops, 2. to increase Winlink traffic (and awareness), and
3. to free up a radio to enable N5HR to implement an APRS beacon (again,
with the thought of Emcomm abilities.)
It sounded like a really good idea whenever W0LPD mentioned it to me! I
know that frustrating or annoying folks had not been a part of the plan.
