I thought it was kind of weird too.  I'm about a quarter mile from my 
nearest neighbor and he's been there longer than I've been here.  My 
computer is about 100 feet from the wireless router.  I get an adequate 
signal, but the fact that I have no noise is what allows it.  If I had local 
noise, the signal probably wouldn't be adequate.  I just got home and I 
don't see now it either.  I didn't see it later Sunday evening after I sent 
the e-mail, but I did see it for several hours Sunday afternoon.

Yes, it could be one that has recently been moved and still has the old net 
name in it.  I am well aware that most people never change the name from the 
manufacturer's setting and never implement the security features in their 
routers.  This one at least had the net name changed, but no other security 
when I saw it.  I just thought it was interesting to have seen it and 
wondered if anyone had any ideas.  I'm not sure what kind of range one 
should expect with legal power and antenna.  I consider myself fortunate to 
cover the 100 feet through two rock walls that I do cover.

If I see any more or determine anything I'll let you all know.
