Hi All...
I'd like to send a SHOUT OUT to Dr. Jim... Working in the
background, he completely went over the club's trailer/tower,
with sweat, sandpaper and a fresh coat of paint! It looks
FIRST CLASS!
Also, Dr. Jim supplied all the HF antennas that were used during our
Field Day journey.
It's not easy to make a lot of contacts if you have to cruise the band
looking for stations to QSO... i.e. you are weak...
The ideal situation is to stay on one frequency and have stations
call you! I enjoyed that on Sunday as I sat on 14032 for over
4 hours! Obviously N5HR was LOUD on 20 CW... a result of our
FB antenna setup! I believe Gale and John were burning up 40 CW
overnight! N5HR = LOUD!! TNX again Dr. Jim...
Oh... K5XA and N9OF et. al. were smoking 20 and 15 SSB!
ALSO... Food and Field Day go hand in hand. TNX to the FoodCrew,
especially Ruby and Barb!!
I feel pretty special when I can be sitting in a chair, doing HAM RADIO,
while others are preparing dinner!
I hope everyone who joined us at the barn, felt the fun and the LOVE!
73,
Don, W4WJ

To All-
After John H. was up for over 24 hours straight without any sleep he
demonstrated how a really great CW operator can run stations and log at
the
same time. He zipped off over 50 contacts in a about an hour. Just think
what he does when he gets some rest. In addition, Ron Drumheller can
attest
to Don's CW acumen as well since we were busy entering his volume of CW
contacts in the log. I worked the night shift and Jeff did a great job on
20 meter SSB all night. He just kept going so I call him the "Energizer
Bunny".
It was a lot of work but it was fun.
